Damian Molina Beneyto
Damián Molina Beneyto was born on September 19, 1970, son of Agustí Molina Molina Molina (a mechanic by profession) and Amparo Beneyto Gisbert (a weaver when she was young, and a magnificent mother and housewife).
Without any musical tradition at home, at the age of 7 he asked his parents that he wanted to study music, which surprised his parents, but they did not hesitate to support the illusion of their son, who soon took the right path under the guidance of Antonio Calatayud Vañó, both in music theory and clarinet.
When he was only nine years old, he was already attending the rehearsals of the Unión Musical de Boca-rent, to which he officially belonged since February 1980, performing his first concert with the clarinet on March 31, 1980.
In September 1980 he began his studies at the Conservatory of Music "José Melchor Gomis" in Ontinyent, continuing his training at the conservatories "Mestre Vert" in Carcaixent, "J. Rodrigo" in Valencia, "Teresa Bayona" in Zaragoza, and "Oscar Esplá" in Alicante.
In the summer of 1986 he began his training as a conductor, attending the International Choral Conducting Course in Lleida, an experience he repeated until 1991.
In September 1986 he took over the direction of the parish choir of Bocairent, a facet that he would develop for more than a decade, reaching a high level of performance recognized in Bocairent and the surrounding villages.
At the same time, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, he obtained the degree of Industrial Technical Engineer, specializing in electricity, where he also completed other courses related to electrical switchgear.
In 1993 he began his band conducting training, attending courses and seminars where he continued studying pedagogy, clarinet, orchestra conducting and composition. His teachers have been of high national and international prestige: Laszlo Heltay, Alain Langree, Stanislav Krousovsky, Ana Lucía Roza, Maravillas Díaz, Jan Cober, José Rafael Pascual, José Vte. Herrera, Emilio Molina, Eugen Corporon, etc. They have been, among others, those who have complemented his training for more than two decades, intellectually and as a person open to all, willing to work and collaborate in all kinds of new projects, studies and musical experiments.
