FERRAN SANCHIS GANDIA

Ferran Sanchis Gandia born in Ontinyent (Valencia) has studied at the Conservatorio Profesional "Melcior Gomis" in Ontinyent with the specialty of Saxophone, and is a graduate of the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia in the specialty of Composition, in addition to obtaining a Diploma in Business Studies at the University of Valencia. He has taken conducting courses with the Cuban maestro Norman Milanés, with whom he also studied composition and harmony, with maestro Jose Rafael Pascual Vilaplana at the Regional School of the Vall d'Albaida, and with Alex Schillings at the ISEB (Institut Bandístic Europeo) in Trento (Italy).

In the 2014-2015 academic year he was awarded a scholarship to continue his studies in Composition at the "Franz Liszt Academy of Music" in Budapest (Hungary) with Maestro Gyula Fekete, as well as being selected by the Hungarian Ministry of Education and the "Franz Liszt Academy of Music" to pay tribute to József Sári; one of the most important living Hungarian composers.

He has directed the Youth Band of the Ontinyent Musical Association, the Youth Band of the Alfarrasí Musical Instruction, the Atzeneta de Albaida Musical Union, the group of Dolçaines and Tabales "El Regall" from Ontinyent with which he won 2nd Prize at the III Villa de Altea Dulzainas and Percussion Group Competition, the Musical Society "San Francisco de Paula" of Bolbaite with which he won 3rd Prize in the XXXIII Provincial Music Bands Contest, the Agres Musical Union, the Musical Union of Aielo de Malferit, the Unión Musical Santa Cecilia de Sedaví and the Unión Musical Benicadell de Castelló de Rugat with which they won 1st Prize in the V Festival Music Competition in August and 3rd Prize in the X National Film Music Band Contest 'Cullera City'.
