JOAN ENRIC CANET TODOLÍ
He was born in Puerto de Sagunto (Valencia) in 1961. In that city he began his musical studies, continuing his musical training at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia, graduating as a teacher of: · Clarinet. · Solfeggio, Music Theory, Snaking, Transportation and Accompaniment. · Higher Professor of Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, Composition and Instrumentation. He unanimously obtained the following extraordinary prizes from the qualifying jury: · Harmony and Accompanied Melody. · Counterpoint and Fugue. · Composition and Instrumentation. · Mercedes Massí Award for the best intermediate grade academic record in the 1986-87 academic year.
In 1990 he entered by competitive examination in the body of Professors of Music and Performing Arts, currently in charge of the classes of Composition and Orchestration at the Conservatory of Music "Oscar Esplá" in Alicante.
From his activity as a composer we can highlight the following works: Sinfonía concertante, for Orchestra and a saxophonist (premiered at the XI World Saxophone Congress and at the XIII Alicante Contemporary Music Festival), L'Album de Nadia (suite for orchestra) , Viento del Pueblo (Symphonic Poem for Band and also premiered in version for symphony orchestra), Sonatina for Bassoon and Piano, Caribeña (Septet), Duetto for violin and violoncello, Aben-Bazel, Wahabitas and Alfaquies (Moorish Marches), Benicadell and Novecento (Pasodobles), Tonatiuh (Incidental music for the captaincy of the Moorish entrance of Alcoy), El hijo del Zebedeo (Processional march), Aquarel.la alacantina (winning composition of the I National Composition Contest "City of Alicante".
He has been the chief conductor of the bands of Llutxent, Beniganim, "La Nova" of Xátiva and the Centro Instructivo Musical de Alfafar. He has also collaborated as guest conductor or musical advisor for recordings and competitions with different musical groups: bands of Beniatjar, Genovés, Xixona, Redován, El Campello, Banyeres, Comarcal de la Vall d'Albaida, Primitiva de Albaida, Ateneo Musical de Cocentaina, Santa Cecilia de Elda, Municipal de Alicante and Orquesta Sinfónica de Alicante.
