MIGUEL ANGEL MORE
Born in Cañada (Alicante), he began his studies at the local Music School and at the Oscar Esplá conservatory in Alicante. Shortly after he moved to the Villena Professional Conservatory of Music, where he would finish the Middle Grade of saxophone with the teacher: D. José Luna Martínez. He also completes the Elementary Degree in the specialty of Guitar. Later he obtained a place to take advanced saxophone courses at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia: "Manuel Massotti Littel", with Professor D. Antonio Salas Pérez, where he would finish the advanced degree in the specialty of saxophone with the qualification of Outstanding.
He has attended and organized various musical improvement courses with various prestigious teachers, both in saxophone and in Band direction, pedagogy and other specialties.
In 2003, he obtained the Pedagogical Aptitude Certificate at the University of Alicante. His musical restlessness and his great passion for the Moors and Christians festival have made him contribute his modest grain of sand in the world of Festive Music, composing several pieces for this musical genre that he admires so much. In 2004 he made a compact disc with his own pieces from Música Festera.
There are currently six CDs of this musical genre that contain some composition by this musician from Alicante. The result of his enthusiasm and work are the recognitions he has obtained in different competitions: Finalist in the VII “Villa de Benidorm” Competition in 2001. Second prize and 1st prize from the public, in the VIII Callosa d'en Sarrià composition competition 2002. 1st prize in the composition contest of the comparsa de Moros Nuevos de Villena 2003. Second prize by popular vote in the XIX Ontinyent Festival Music Competition in 2004 and second prize in the XX Ontinyent Festival Music Competition in 2005.
He has been part of several chamber groups, he also participates in Ensembles and "Big Bands", as well as in various band groups in concerts and recordings as a musician or musical advisor.
He was selected to form part of the jury in the III Altea la Vella Festival Music Contest in January 2005. He has been a member of the Municipal Band of Villena and the Unión Musical de Cañada, his hometown.
At present he performs the tasks as a Secondary School teacher. At the same time, he is a saxophone teacher at the Vall d'Albaida Regional School of Music, which includes 11 Valencian towns, and at the L'Alacantí-Alcoià Regional School, as well as directing the Ibi and Xixona Youth Band.
