VICENT CERDÁ I PERIS
The young composer from the Valencian town of Vallada, Vicent Cerdà i Peris, studied Euphonium, Varas Trombone and Piano at the music school of the Unión Protectora Musical de Vallada and at the same time at the music school of the Musical Society of Alzira. Subsequently, he completed his higher studies in the instrumental specialty of Euphonium at the "Joaquín Rodrigo" Higher Conservatory of Music in Valencia (class of 2004), and at the "Manuel Castillo" Higher Conservatory of Music in Seville (class of 2006). He has studied with great international soloists of his specialty, euphonium, such as: Steven Mead, Juan José Munera, Patrick Harrild, and a long etc…
As a performer, he has given performances throughout the Spanish geography, including performances in France and the Netherlands, including the solo performance of "Rhapsody for Euphonium" with the Banda Jove de la Societat Musical d'Alzira, interpretation that was broadcast by Radio 9.
He regularly collaborates with various bands from the Valencian Community and Andalusia, being director of the trombones in the Arrabat Band.
As a composer, it is worth noting his repertoire within processional music and festive music. His festive music catalog includes several commissioned compositions for the Moors and Christians festival in San Blás (Alicante), especially for various captaincies. And within the catalog of processional music, it is worth mentioning the diversity of pieces dedicated and commissioned to and by Brotherhoods of the city of Seville, where his pieces continue to be played today in various Brotherhoods.
