Antón Alcalde

Although he is basically self-taught, he is deeply grateful to several composers and entities that have had a decisive influence on his training. They are Rafael Collazo Moares, X. Carlos Seráns Olveira, Andrés Valero Castells and the Band of the School of Music of Rianxo, band in which he began his studies.

As a performer he studied and took master classes with percussionists of great prestige and international recognition such as:

Daniel Riveiro, Ramón Perez, Tom Risco, Roberto Oliveira, Cesar Peris, Pedro Varea, Nancy Zeltsman, Nick Woud, Tobias Guttmann, Lorenzo Ferrandiz, Ali N' Dianye, Romain Kuonen, Jan Pustjens, Bodgan Bacanu, Rubén Montes, Juanjo Guillém, Juan Collazo, Josep Vicent, Diego Ventoso, Xabier Sabater ....

He played in groups such as:

Symphonic Band 'Filharmónica de Galicia', Symphonic Band of the 'Federación Gallega de Bandas de Música Populares', both directed by maestro X. Carlos Seráns and being the youngest member; also highlighting the 'Agrupación de Vientos y Percusión del Conservatorio Jacinto Guerrero (Toledo)' directed by maestro Enrique García Ansensio.

He collaborated with several Galician musical-cultural projects such as: A Nosa Clave and Musigalizando.

In 2009 he started in the world of composition for the audio-visual medium, studying Scoring for Motion Pictures and Videogames with prestigious and international teachers such as:

Conrado Xalabarder, Patrick Doyle, Wataru Hokoyama, Michael Giacchino, Andrea Datzman, Alejandro Vivas, James Shearman... and continuing his training with master classes with prestigious teachers such as Oscar Navarro.

He is currently a percussion teacher and resident composer at the School of Music of Rianxo, is a member of the AGC (Galician Association of Composers), holds the professional title of percussion and has numerous works premiered and performed in countries such as Spain, Portugal, USA, Holland, Colombia and Australia. He has received important awards and mentions.
