DANIEL FERRERO SILVAJE
Daniel Ferrero holds degrees in horn, harmony, composition and instrumentation, choir conducting and orchestra conducting. He has conducted several ensembles, among them, the orchestra of the Conservatory of Valencia, the Symphony Orchestra of Vallés, the Unió Musical de Muro and the Municipal Band of Villena. From 1987 to 2000 he has been the chief conductor of the Banda Unión Artística Musical de Ontinyent, with whom he has won several awards. From 2001 to 2005, he has been the chief conductor of the Band of the Sociedad Filharmònica Alteanense. With this band he has inaugurated the Palau Altea, and has won several awards in Murcia and in the contest of Kerkrade in 2005.
He has made several recordings and has been jury in several competitions in Elda, Altea la Vella, Villena, Valencia and Paipa (Colombia). In 2008 he was guest conductor at the "4º Estágio de Orquestra de Sopros PIAGET", University campus of Mirandela and Viseu in Portugal.
In 2010 he was awarded by the FSMCV with the Euterpe Prize in the category of composition of music for the festival. As a composer, he is the author of more than 50 marches and pasodobles. He has also composed for other instrumental ensembles.
He is currently a horn teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Cullera and director of the band Unión Musical de Alberic, with whom he has won a second prize in the honor section of the International Competition City of Valencia in 2007 and 2013, a third prize in the same competition in 2011, and a first prize in the symphonic section in the International Competition Villa d'Altea in 2009.
