MILA ROSE MOLINA
The young composer from Ontinyenta, Mila Rosa Molina Moscardó, has written a new motet dedicated to the avocational image of our Brotherhood and which is entitled "Madre Nostra". The piece is written for four voices and based on some verses by our macip, Sergi Gómez.
Motets are short musical pieces, sung in the chapel or perhaps with a small number of musical instruments that traditionally, since the Baroque era at least, have accompanied our religious parades, and are the musical form of passionate mourning in Ontinyent and our region. Right now, the custom is quite abandoned, but the Brotherhood of Soledad already has two motets in its heritage, and intends, in the coming years, to bring the custom of singing motets back to the daily life of our passionate commemoration.
If nothing happens, we plan for the “Mare Nostra” motet to close the Procession of Silence that will be held next Holy Thursday in Ontinyent. When the Virgen de la Soledad is in the Plaza de la Vila, ready to be entered into the Temple of the Assumption, it will be time to interpret it.
As it is a very solemn and attractive moment, we want to inform the general public so that they know how the procession will end this year and so, please join us in the Plaza de la Vila. Later, we will go to the house of the Neighborhood Association to enjoy the chocolate.
