“1755” Theme and Variations for Trumpet and Piano

Commissioned by "Albéniz Brass School" for the I INTERNATIONAL TRUMPET COMPETITION "BENJAMÍN MORENO" Isla Cristina, September 2015.

In this descriptive work for Trumpet and Piano, the composer tries to narrate the history and customs of Isla Cristina (Huelva), which arose as a result of an earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 1755, one of the largest earthquakes in modern history that almost completely destroyed the city of Lisbon and killed more than 60,000 people.
