TOMAS SIMON PLAZAS

He was born in Amposta (Tarragona), where he began his musical studies specializing in saxophone. Later he begins with the study of the piano and thus combines both instruments. He obtained the Higher Degree in Saxophone at the Liceu Music Conservatory in Barcelona with an Honorary Award at the end of his degree and the Professional Degree in Piano at the Tarragona Music Conservatory.

He has been part of various musical formations such as the music band of the Unió Filharmònica de Amposta, the saxophone quartets Saxofília, Entropia and Saxformance and the Academic Big Band of Tortosa among others.He has also directed various music bands and choral formations.
In the field of composition he has perfected himself with the composers Lluís Vergés, the film music composer Alfons Conde and the composer from Alicante Óscar Navarro.
His works have been edited by Dinsic editorial, Periferia Sheet Music and Omnes Bands.

He currently performs concert music (chamber ensembles, music band, orchestra) music for image (documentaries, short films, cinema) and stage music (musicals and music for theater).

He has received various awards and recognitions for his compositions and his musical career.
